Makila Zapirain - Knives

Loquat-wood knives

A legendary blade
This knife honours those formerly transported by Basque smugglers during their nocturnal adventures between France and Spain. This market began in 1748, when the Spanish king, Fernando VI, prohibited its manufacture because the Spaniards used them as a weapon. In homage to those brave men, we have created this unique object made of loquat wood and high quality steel.

Blade length: 9cm – Open length: 19cm
